Shore Volleyball Academy Girls U-12/13 Team Info
Created in the winter of 25/26, we are planning to host our U-12/-13 Training Team again in 2026/27. Tryouts will be held in August and November. About 70-80% of training team spots will be offered in August, with a follow up supplemental tryout in November. Athletes who do not make the team in August are encouraged to try out again in November, once Fall seasons and clinics are finished. For those who are not offered a spot on the Training team will still have opportunities to work with us through either our clinics or our winter "club alternative program". Our seasoned Directors with college experience run our clinics and club alternative program.
General Details Below (more will be announced when available):
This training group would be those who were born July 1st, of 2013 and later (born between July 1st, 2013 and now). We will consider including those who just missed the cut off date, but are looking to target a group which will fit the U12 age group (were born July 1st, 2013 and now) as well.
In it's first year, we hosted one "team" of 17, which practiced as one group, but split into two groups when scrimmaging for more play opportunities. For this upcoming '26/'27 year, we will once again host a "team" of 16 or 17, with the possibility of hosting either a 2nd "team", or a formal U-13 Club team. This determination will be made based on tryout evaluations.
Tentative Schedule (subject to change and may have additional practices/opportunities):
Full schedule to be announced later in the Fall. The "season" will run from January through the end of March. This team will participate in the 2 Shore Volleyball Academy "Mini Tournaments" with our Club Alternative Program, as well as atleast 2 other scrimmages with clubs within NJ. These scrimmage opportunities may require travel to another clubs host facility. In the best case scenario, we would have one scrimmage opportunity near the end of each month of the season.
Practices will be roughly one time per week, in addition to 2-3 other bonus practices (seperate from the assigned practice night) to get additional training hours within the first half of the season.

The Head Coach for this team will be announced once selections are made. Shore Volleyball Academy has 5 "Head Coaches" selected for this upcoming year, which will cover all of the teams formed. This program will still be run with the assistance of our other Directors and Court Coaches who rotate through sessions.
This "training team" not be a formal travel team, but a consistent training group with the focus on individual skill development within the group. We are looking for complete overall volleyball development, not pushing anyone into a position so early into their development.
There is an intention that these young "training teams" progress to "formal" club teams in the future.
